Something from Mama today:  The brain works in such wonderful ways.  Kids have great aptitude and ease translating from one language to another and also in substituting synonyms without even knowing they are doing it.  I've been telling the kids for years that they should always take the opportunity when they are in or near a restroom to try to go to the bathroom (and for that matter to take the opportunity to wash their hands).  I suppose "opportunity" may be a big word for toddlers, preschoolers and even kindergarteners.

These days when we are in a restroom together, Julia says to me, "Mama.  Come on.  Let's take a chance."

It's adorable.  I haven't wanted to "correct" her expression because it makes me smile every time she says it.  (I imagine us not going to the bathroom, then being stuck in some remote location deeply regretting that we had "taken a chance" by not using the restroom when we had the opportunity)
