I’m learning Chinese!  I’ve been watching A Bug’s Life in Chinese for the last several weeks.  Mama let me watch it in English once and (somewhat to Mama’s chagrin), I was thrilled.  (Mama was hoping that I’d just spontaneously start understanding Chinese and never need to watch it in English!).  J  I did impress her enormously though when I told her that 快一点 (kuai4 yi1 dian3) means “Let’s go.”  I had heard that expression over and over in the same spot in the movie.  When I watched it in English, they said “Let’s go” at that precise moment.  Mama tells me that  快一点 is actually translates into English as “hurry up” but I told her, “NO!  That’s not what the movie says!”

Here we are in the evening tonight, hanging out in the inflatable pool (no water, just kids!).
