Somehow while we were on a long drive between Williston and Bismarck, we got to talking about different states in the country.  The state of Missouri came up.  Emma wanted to know how far away it was/is and how long it would take to drive there.  She asked:  "Does it take years to get there?"

Cute, right.  But really much funnier than her comment itself was what it reminded me:  the airplanes segment by comedian Louis CK which Amy A introduced me to:

"People in planes are the worst . . . They complain.  It was the worst day of my life.  I had to sit on the runway for 40 minutes.  That's a story in this country.  You had to sit on the runway for 40 minutes?  Oh, my god.  What happened then?   Did you soar in to the sky?  Did you land softly on big soft tires that you can't imagine how they could possibly fill with air?!?  I had to pay for my sandwich.  You're flying.  You're sitting in a chair in the sky!  You're like a Greek myth!  Air travel is too slow.  New York to California in six hours?  They used to take 30 YEARS to do that.  And many of you would die.  You'd be a whole different group of people by the time you got to California."  For the full clip (warning:  some foul language) click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3dYS7PcAG4
